I read a fantastic book on choice that changed how I see my career. Every day, I continue to choose to be a doctor. It's up to me. The Art of Choosing by Sheena Iyengar reminds us that we have control over many of the options that come up in our lives.
When I get bogged down in my day to day life, the feeling that there is just too much to do, that I can't believe this is the career I chose, I remind myself why I made this choice in the first place.
Why did you choose to become a doctor? Think back to the essay that you wrote to get your med school interview. What were you hoping to accomplish by choosing this profession?
